Barcelona’s win against Valencia put them back in the race to win the La Liga title. Luis Enrique’s men continue to trail Real Madrid 2 point even though Madrid have a game in hand.

With Sevilla’s slump in form, the race for the title now looks like a two-horse race between Barca and Madrid.

Both teams would have to do their jobs and keep on winning. But they would be handed a big chance when they play each other in the el Clasico on April 23.

The game which kicks off at 20:45 CET, would definitely play a huge role in deciding who wins the title, as it has done very often in previous seasons.

Controversial Gil Manzano to officiate El Clasico

And according to MARCA, to officiate the game is Referee Jesus Gil Manzano who would be officiating his second el clasico. But Barcelona fans would e concerned about his performance in Madrid’s last game against Villarreal.

Villarreal were leading 2-0, but in a sensational 19-minute period in the second half, they turned things around. Bale pulled a goal back and then Madrid were awarded a controversial spot kick.

Bruno Soriano handled in the area. But it looked completely unintentional as the ball bounced off a team-mate in a crowded penalty box.

Villarreal president, Fernando Rog had said after the game: “Gil Manzano and his assistants left the stadium with Real Madrid bags. That’s not right, it seems to me.”

And the fans were so frustrated that they vandalized his car after Madrid eventually won 3-2.
