Jordan Miller is here

Jordan Miller is here, like an unexpected surprise, while George Mason is now 3-1 in athe Atlantic 10. Miller just played his first college game ever on the road yesterday at Rhode Island in another convincing win for Mason within the conference. Mason has lost two starters from last season which now include sophomore Goanar Mar and Jaire Grayer. Can either return this year? The school hasn’t said anything to think that may happen and now since the injuries “redshirt” freshman Jordan Miller is now playing.

Situation makes sense given the roster depth. Miller is 6’6″ and can play at multiple spots. When I watched him live in high school with other Mason fans we were amazed at how his coach played him all over the place. He can be a factor at any spot on the floor. He played at the five often on his high school team because of his size but you can see from the Rhode Island game he can also play as a “big guard” as well. The steal at mid court showed off what this kid can really do.

It’s easy why Dave Paulsen has pulled the redshirt option on Miller. Like Mar, he’s versatile and can play at multiple spots on defense. No way Miller is on the court against URI unless he’s been playing great defense in practice. He has length and tenacity and could contribute to what Mason has been doing on defense recently.

It will be interesting to see where Paulsen plays him for the rest of the season and if he can keep this up. He gives Mason options, which is great, and can play at multiple spots.
