THE BALL IS NOW IN COUTINHO'S COURT: BARCELONA

With FC Barcelona having lodged a new improved bid of £90.3 million for Liverpool favorite, Philippe Coutinho.
What happens next is anyone's guess.

The little magician is reported to have agreed personal terms on a wage deal with the Catalans weeks ago through his agent but he has yet to put in a formal transfer request to leave Liverpool.

Words like amical agreement cut no ice in today's mercenary world of football transfers, instead it is Liverpool FC refusing a mega offer from Barcelona while the player himself says and does nothing, leaving us all in a state of inertia.

This goes one of two ways:
  1. The player asks for a transfer and joins the Spaniards with Liverpool at a substantial financial gain.
  2. Coutinho stays at Anfield to help us compete in the Champions League, the Premier League and the Cup competitions.
Either way, it is up to Coutinho as to what he wants to do as player-power since the Bosman ruling came into force some years ago.

Liverpool fans, Klopp and FSG may just have to accept that and use the funds to try and replace him.
