Wide receiver Kenny Bell is going to be a long shot to make the Denver Broncos roster

The third year pro will have a tough road ahead of him to make the team as the Denver Broncos are now loaded at the Wide Receiver position.

In early January, the Denver Broncos signed several players to future contracts with wide Receiver Kenny Bell being one of them. As a fifth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016, he brings some competition to an already loaded wide receiver position in Denver.

Name: Kenny Bell
Position: Wide Receiver
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 188
Age: 26
Experience: 3rd
College: Nebraska

After being released by the Baltimore Ravens in 2017, he is looking for another chance to make an NFL roster. He has yet to make it out of a training camp having finished both offseasons on injured reserve.

The Good

Bell comes from an NFL family. His father Ken Bell played for the Broncos from 1986-89 and finished second in team history with 104 kick returns for 2,218 yards. He has great 4.42 40-yard speed with a 41.5 inch vertical. In college, he had 181 catches for 2,689 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The Bad

Injury history is the biggest red flag for Bell. It’s hard enough to make an NFL roster, but when you finish on injured reserve before Week 1 in each of your first two seasons the odds are going to be stacked against you in this league.

Add that to the reality that the Broncos draft two more wide receivers to go with the two they drafted last season and there doesn’t appear to much room on the roster long-term for Bell.

2018 Status

Kenny Bell would need to do something extremely remarkable in training camp to make it onto the Broncos roster. With Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Carlos Henderson, Jordan Taylor, and, yes, even Isaiah McKenzie ahead of him on the depth chart, Bell would need to explode onto the scene to have a shot overcoming any of these guys.
