HT: What are the top 10 Broncos games played in Denver?

No. 1 has to be the AFC Championship Game against the Raiders in 1978, but after that let the debate begin.

Good morning, Broncos Country!

We’ve reached that point of the offseason where we do lists. This one stands apart, though, because I think it’s a lot of fun.

Earlier this week on his show, Vic Lombardi created a list of the top 10 sporting events in Denver. I knew at that point Adam Malnati and I had to give it a Denver Broncos spin.

On the latest MHR Radio Podcast, we give our top 10 Broncos games played in Denver. We also discuss who we think is deserving of induction in the Ring of Fame, but that’s a debate fans have had ad nauseam. I will say, on that subject, that the Ring of Fame selection committee should induct the Super Bowl-winning teams and the Orange Crush defense; especially the latter. When you think about the history of the organization, it always ties back to that special unit.

Even our new shirt pays homage to that 1970s defense. Celebrate that modern spin of the Broncos defense with a retro Orange Rush shirt.

Back to the best Broncos games played in Denver. I won’t give Adam’s and my lists away, you’ll have to listen to the podcast for that, but No. 1 was a consensus, as it it should be. That, of course, is the first AFC Championship Game at Mile High Stadium. That magical New Year’s Day in 1978 is when the Orange Crush and Denver beat the Oakland Raiders 20-17 to advance to the first Super Bowl in franchise history.

From there, we have a mix of AFC title, playoff and unforgettable regular-season games. I’m sure Adam and I missed a few games, and some on Twitter have already mentioned a few, but this is a fun a list.

What do you think? What are your top 10 Broncos games that were played in Denver?
