Dolphins injury news is...good?

The Miami Dolphins actually received good injury news on Monday?

August has decimated the Miami Dolphins’ roster, injuring player after player all across the depth chart. It has hit starters at quarterback along the offensive line, in the defensive front seven, and in the secondary. It has hit veterans and rookies. It has been a rough month for the Dolphins.

On Monday, a little good news creeped into the storyline.

The Dolphins saw safety Nate Allen return to the Practice field Monday, taking part in the team’s first joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. Allen has missed the last two weeks of practices as he rehabbed a groin injury. He is expected to be the starting safety, paired with Reshad Jones, at the start of the season, though he could be pushed out of that role when T.J. McDonald finishes serving an eight-game suspension.

“I just did what I had to do and it wasn’t too long of a process,” Allen said of his injury recovery and how he is fitting in with the team. “Everything’s been good. (We’re) just building the chemistry and hopefully when the regular season rolls around, we’ll just hit the ground rolling.”

The Dolphins will hold another joint practice with the Eagles on Tuesday before facing them in a Preseason Week 3 contest on Thursday. That game will be aired live on NFL Network.
