The guys at Fox Sports have once again given us a chance to get closer to the action by mic'ing up Queensland Reds backs Karmichael Hunt and Samu Kerevi in recent weeks. First we've got Hunt vs the Crusaders then Kerevi against the Sharks.
Like others before, these clips offer unique insight into the on-field leadership and player communication that takes place in these high pressure matches.
Against the Crusaders, we got to hear Hunt marshal other players into position, talk strategy with Quade Cooper and then call for Quade to execute a crosskick that very nearly led to a try.
Likewise, Kerevi was mic'd against the Sharks and offered some positive encouragement before organising the first of his two tries, which would also happened to take out the player mic in the process.
As always, technology such as player mics and ref cams can give us a glimpse into something we otherwise might never experience. Hopefully, these segments are here to stay. Â
The Reds have a tough weekend ahead as they are without a number of key players for their match against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires on Saturday.
