Antonio Conte has told Chelsea’s board to make re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton their top transfer priority this summer, according to reports.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Conte has identified the Everton striker as his top transfer target this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
The story says that Chelsea are keen to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge this summer amid the uncertainty about Diego Costa’s future at the club.
Lukaku has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players this season, scoring 24 goals and making six assists in the top flight.
The Belgian forward was deemed to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea by then manager Jose Mourinho back in 2014 as he was sold to Everton in a deal reported to be worth around £28m.
