Champions League

My first article will be on the Champions League as the return matches of the round of 8th start Tonight !
Being a supporter as I am will not probably be easy tonight. Even if our recent matches and come backs agains the Spurs and Liverpool were great and encouraging. I doubt that tonight we'll score 4 goals or more against Milan that is having a great season... but you never know, let's believe. On the other side, we've got a match between Zenith and Benfica that has no interest for me at all. Yes Benfica did finish first in its group (with Man U by the way), but they managed to lose against Zenith shortly after that. I don't see them qualifying tonight, and once more we'll have a team like Zenith that as far as I'm concerned shouldn't be reaching the quaterfinals of the most important football competiton for clubs in the world. But that's the way it is, Arsenal didn't get lucky with the drawing lot and Zenith did, now they're going to make the most of it and that's very understandable.
Then tomorrow we'll have another of those surprising and deceiving matches with Lyon facing Nicosie. Being French I'm of course delighted that it seems that once more a french club will reach the quaterfinals, but without facing a top contender in Europe however. Lyon should manage to keep its 1-0 advantage after the first match even if traveling to Nicosie isn't esay ! Teams like Zenith and Porto know it far too well !!
We'll also have Barcelona steping up for its second match against Leverkusen. It should be an easy match at the Camp Nou with a 3-1 win a few Weeks Ago in Germany. I can't wait to see the first real test for Barcelona in this tournament since the club is fully concentrationg on the competition after admiting that wining the Liga is now impossible!
At last, we'll have some very interesting games coming up next weeks.
Real Madrid will have to be careful after the surprising last minute draw in Moscou
Marseille and Bale will do anything they can to preserve their 1-0 surprise win in respectively Milan (inter) and Munich two weeks ago. Those two games will be very tense for sure and great to watch
Finally, Chelsea after firing A.Villas Boas yesterday will need to play some great football to qualify against Napoli after their 3-1 loss in Italy. It won't be easy agains Cavani and his friends since the club is currently on a 4 games winning streak. Again, same as Arsenal, Chelsea are out of the Barclays Premier League title and will leave everything they have at Stamfords Bridge
To conclude, the quaterfinals will see as for every year the intrusion of surprising team such as Nicosie or Lyon, Benfica or Zenith and even Marseille and Bale. I can't wait ti see if the underdogs such as Napoli, Bayern, Chelsea, Milan... have what it takes this year to bring down Barcelona and the Real
Let's wait and see
