Men's Tournament Challenge

Stats through the first round:
Team name, tourney winner, current pts, current rank, Sweet 16 teams left
Mandalay Bay Guy, Villanova, 240 pts, 92.8%, 14 teams left
Monte Carlo Guy, UConn, 230 pts, 81.2%, 15 teams left
Treasure Island guy, Ohio State, 260 pts, 99.6%, 16 teams left
Aladdin Guy, Memphis, 240 pts, 92.8%, 16 teams left
Bellagio Guy, Duke, 240 pts, 92.8%, 16 teams left

I'm sitting in pretty good shape right now. All my teams are at a high percentage ranking, and I have anywhere from 14 to 16 teams left going to the Sweet 16. You can read more about my strategy below. I didn't spend too much time researching teams or matchups.

Fast Break Segment 2
Currently: 3150 pts, 69.6%, 6348 rank

Today's lineup:
C. Billups, D. Wade, C. Anthony, Z. Randolph, S. O'Neal, and Detroit
Total vaule: 90.8, Average points: 112.2

Yesterday's results:
C. Billups, 21.5 avg, 23 pts
L. James, 29.0 avg, 30 pts
D. Nowitzki, 26.7 avg, 31 pts
E. Brand, 29.2 avg, 35 pts
M. Camby, 23.2 avg, 4 pts (ouch)
Cleveland, 2.8 avg, 5 pts
Total: 128 pts against an average of 132.5

I'm slowly recovering from my missed day a few weeks back. Last Saturday I was at 63.6%, now I'm at 69.6%. I'm pretty sure this game segment won't count for my 2006 Uber score anyway, but I still have to keep trying. The points will count for my overall SFM group standings, however. Hopefully I can make it to 80%, but the season is nearing it's end.

Hard Court Pickem
Currently: 117 pts, 91.7%, 2771 rank

Yesterday:
Boston over Orlando (H) - wrong
New Jersey (H) over LA Lakers - correct
Today:
New Orleans (H) over Denver

I'm recovering from a missed week in this game, just like Fast Break. I was really disappointed back in week 2 of the NBA season when I forgot to submit by picks, too. Oh well. I've climbed back to a 90+% ranking, so I'm happy about that. On Feb. 23 I was at 86.5%, and now I'm at 91.7%. Progress has been slow, but that's what happens.

Stock Car Challenge
Currently: 2006 pts, 89.3%, 11412 rank

Atlanta Motor Speedway Lineup
J. Johnson, 24.6 value, starting 14th
C. Edwards, 24.4 value, starting 18th
J. Gordon, 21.6 value, starting 12th
K. Kahne, locked at 17.2, now 18.1, starting on the pole
J. Yeley, locked at 12.0, now 12.5, starting 5th
Locked at 99.8, 101.2 current value

This week I step away from the Roush drivers a little, in favor of Hendrick drivers Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. They've both proven themselves at this track, they've both won here, and rank 7th and 4th in average finish at Atlanta since 2001. Edwards won both races at Atlanta last year, and Kahne has an average finish of 12.0 in four races at this track. Yeley is my cheap guy, and he qualified well.

Best Ball Challenge
Currently: 960 pts, 99.1%, 215 rank

Bay Hill Invitational Lineup through Day 2
T. Woods, shoots -2 and -1, currently in 25th place
C. Campbell, shoots -5 and -1, currently in 7th place
B. Gay, shoots -2 and -1, currently in 25th place
C. Villegas, shoots -1 and -3, currently in 16th place
Currently at -23, with a 83% rank for the tourney

For this tournament I chose golfers who've made the cut often, my typical strategy. Woods, Campbell, and Gay all have performed well at Bay Hill in the past, and I picked Villegas because he's hot right now.

This is the last tournament in Segment 1 of this game. I should easily finish at 98+%, locking in a great Uber score.

BASS Fantasy Fishing
Currently: 1216 pts, 90.6%, 1345 rank

Lone Star Shootout Lineup through 2 days:
K. VanDam, leading the tournament

A. Martens, in 36th place, makes the cut
T. Omori, currently in 7th place
M. Reynolds, 81st place and misses the cut

T. Butcher, currently in 44th and makes the cut

BASS Super Six
Currently: 56 pts, 83.3%, 1489 rank

Lone Star Shootout Lineup through 2 days:
1. T. Omori, currently 7th

2. E. Evers, currently 6th - 2 pts
3. K. VanDam, currently 1st - 8 pts
4. G. Hackney, currently 3rd - 16 pts
5. T. Scroggins, currently 23rd
6. A. Martens, currently 36th

These results will likely change in the last two days of the tournament.
