Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford will start in Thursday’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, his first start since Dec. 23. Crawford has been sidelined with a concussion and reportedly vertigo that limited him to only 28 games last season. While rust is naturally a concern, Crawford is a vital part of the Blackhawks when he’s healthy. He had a 2.27 GAA and .929 save percentage in 2017-18 before he was injured.
It’s hard to know what to expect out of the Montreal native after such a lengthy absence, but fantasy owners will no doubt be hoping he can return to the 50-plus game, 30-plus win performer he was from 2013-17. In order to create room on the 23-man roster for Crawford, the team will send Luke Johnson down to the minors, rather than netminder Anton Forsberg.
Crawford does not come with a discount on DraftKings Salary: $8,300. However, I will still consider rostering him, tonight, because the Arizona Coyotes cannot score. The Coyotes are dead last in goals-per-game at, (0.60). The perfect way to ease Crawford back into action.
