Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor Mcdavid had a goal and an assist as the Oilers are in the win column for the first time this season.
McDavid, who scored the game-winning goal on the power play in the third period, has a point on all five of Edmonton’s goals this season (two goals, three assists). The Oilers (1-2-0) lost their first two games by a combined score of 9-3. The first two games did not show any improvement from last season. to be honest, fans in this city were already losing their minds.

I have to admit, the schedule does not favor Edmonton at all to start the Season. However, it will be key to stick to a gameplay as close to this afternoons as possible.
Oilers won one they had to have!
Team played with some energy.
McDavid and RNH, 1-1-2.
Talbot stellar, 23 saves.
Strome and Brodziak lines grinded effectively in 2nd and 3rd.
Won Special Teams battle as well.— Bob Stauffer (@Bob_Stauffer) October 13, 2018
Let’s hope this team can carry the minimum to beat some really good teams coming up…
