A First So-So in Motown

A few thoughts on last night's Red Wings game.
Detroit's first Shoot-out came 35 games into this year, a game which was on OLN, go figure.

Fedorov looks to get so much ice time with Hrdina being the only other viable center (Sergei had almost 24 minutes). Sergei looked the same as he did for much of the latter part of his career in Motown, nonchalantly cruising around on those great wheels of his, but not really getting involved in the game- he did have 2 assists though and will continue to get many more gravy train points centering Zherdev and Nash. But I doubt, no, I know, he's no where worth his hefty salary that is more than Zherdev's, Klesla's, Hrdina's, Suchy's, AND Vyborny's combined salaries.

Lang looked a little slow his first game back after missing eight, but he is one of the so very few that can still be extremely effective playing a slow game.

Osgood looked like, well- like Osgood. So, we're all counting the days until St. Nick slips a nice little package down Joe Louis' Chimney- hmn. maybe a healthy Manny Legacy would be nice.

Brett Lebda is proving that, contrary to popular belief, the Wing's actually do have scouts in North America. Lebda , who's getting a good dose of ice time with all the injuries on the blue line, had two assists last night including a great tape-to-tape shot/pass through heavy traffic to Lang in the first. That pass was so good, the Detroit announcers thought is was from Woolley and not the rookie just because it was such a veteran move with great vision.
