December Woes & More...

I have to vent somewhere... Cowboys are going to drive me to drink - if yesterday was any indication I may become an alcholic by Christmas! The Star-Telegram is sick of me writing them and I have to have a place to speak!! The Cowboy December struggles continue... This time, sports media outlets, you cannot blame Romo for the collaspe. Romo completed 41 passes, had about 400 yds passing and 3 TD's and still lost!!! Sure he missed Roy Williams for a go ahead TD in the 4th qtr, but that throw was sailing over out of desperation! Desperation caused by the defense and special teams allowing BIG plays. Missed tackles and no safeties or DB's covering the middle of the field, made it too easy for Smith to be wide open. The Marion not so Barbarian coughed up the ball which caused an easy score for the Giants. Seemed like the whole 2nd half Garrett had placed all run plays in a dumpster. Did he not think he could give Jones or Choice a shot or two to make something happen? Giants defense deserve some props for shutting down our run, only allowing 46 yards. Sure the 4th quarter left us no options but to throw, but come on you red headed not so genuis. You have proved nothing to me other than your lack of coming up with offensive plays. Folk can't seem to kick one through the uprights and McBriar (who had NOTHING to do with the missed FG) is the scapegoat. Eli only completed 11 passes and they won!!!! Cupcake Phillips in the post game interview avoided the December woes as he so often does saying the media made it up!!! That sounds like something a PR rep for Woods would be saying right about now. The Cowboys have a rough road ahead and it may not be pretty. I will make sure my liquor cabinet gets stocked this week. The Chargers who have won like 6 or 7 games in a row will come into Dallas very prepared with some offensive tricks of its own.. I think Norv knows a thing or two about them Cowboys and their play calling. Then we have to roll into New Orleans! Of course I believe it was 2006 when the Saints blew out the 'Boys in the playoffs and then turned around to lose the next week themselves. Sean Payton, who also knows a thing or two about the Cowboys, says that he will not rest his starters even when the have home field advantage. That means bad news for these Cowboys. Sure the Redskins "almost" pulled an upset, but seems to me the Saints are destined for something greater. Too bad Dallas does not have an ounce of what Brees is selling to those Saints or play with the heart that teams does even though they have pretty much sewn up HF advantage. Then come the Redskins and Eagles, who both of late have really turned up the heat. I believe that the Cowboys can win at least 2 of these games to finish off the season. I cannot even speak the word playoffs and Cowboys in the same sentence without that awful feeling in my stomach. What will Jerry no clue Jones do if the Cowboys were to lose all the remaining games? Would he finally come to his senses? I think this may be the ONLY way he does if they were to go 0-4. Until Jones is ready to give up some of his false-sense of being a coach of his own and is willing to give up some control and let go (ie: Jimmie Johnson) then Im afraid the Cowboys have cast their lot. Until then, come have a drink with me. I think it will be a LONGGGGGG off season.
