Oklahoma State Report Card vs Colorado

Could Oklahoma State's offense be any worse during the first half against Colorado? Especially in the passing game. Oklahoma State's backup quarterback Alex Cate, who was starting in place of Zac Robinson who was being held out of the game for precautionary reasons, was absolutely dreadful, going 0 for 9 with an interception. He could of had three more interception's but luckily the Colorado defensive backs couldn't keep their hands on the ball.

Luckily, Coach Mike Gundy made a switch at quarterback to Brandon Weeden who came in and did a decent job at leading the Cowboy offense. Weeden went 10 of 15 for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

The rushing offense was the usual solid self. Keith Totson lead the way with 172 yards on the ground with one touchdown. Kendall Hunter came in and ran for 47 yards. Overall the Cowboy's ran for 232 yards.

Defense: B

The Cowboy defense was only allowing 20 points per game coming into the game but they gave up 28 points to the lowly Buffaloes. The 7th ranked rush defense was the usual solid self only giving up 13 rushing yards. That's 73 yards less than their average allowed per game.

The downfall to the Pokes defense is in the passing game. They were ranked 92nd in the nation in passing defense giving up 244 yards per game. That didn't change much last night as the Buffaloes were able to pass for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Special Teams: C

The special teams started out with a bang as Perrish Cox ran back the first punt of the ball game for a touchdown for the first score of the game.

Dan Bailey went 1 for 2 in field goals, hitting his first attempt at 30 yards. Unfortunately he had a later attempt blocked.

The bad news for the Cowboys special teams was that they gave up a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown, just seconds after they scored the go ahead touchdown.

Overall this was a pretty scary game for the Cowboys and their fans. Of course the offense struggled without the starting quarterback Zac Robinson in the line up but they're going to have to improve upon some things if they hope to defeat the Sooners in Norman next week.
