Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson defended David De Gea's questionable performance against West Brom by saying that he is still in a process of learning.
David De Gea, who could not understand Shane Long's shot during the game which cost Manchester United their 1-0 lead over West Brom, came under heavy criticism and many had doubts if he was the right choice in goal.
Sir Alex admitted that De Gea made a mistake but said that was down to being new in English Football and is positive that De Gea is the right man for United.
Ferguson said:"The first 25 minutes we were superb, the movement of the ball was great, but then we slowed and lost momentum," he said.
"We lost a goal which David should have done better with.
"It was just a bit of concentration there but welcome to English football. He came in for it in the second half and I thought he should have been protected more by the referee, but it was a good experience for him.
"It's all a Learning Process."
