STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS OPEN THREAD- May 19/17

Anaheim got lucky in OT after dominating most of the game and then coughing up a 2 goal Lead against Nashville. Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins make a lineup change that has some saying it's a panic move as they look to avoid going down 3-1 to the Ottawa Senators.

ANAHEIM 3 NASHVILLE 2 (series tied 2-2)

Unlike the 3 previous games in this series Anaheim was the better team, and had a 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd to show for it. Maybe, unlike what we've seen from seemingly stable leads in this year's playoffs, they could hang on and win in regulation?

(MORGAN FREEMAN: They couldn't)

After PK Subban and Filip Forsberg scored in the 3rd, with Forsberg's coming at the 19:25 mark, Corey Perry emerged from a smoldering peat bog just outside of Bridgestone Arena and fired a shot that hit Subban's stick and went in behind Pekka Rinne. Perry has now scored 2 of his 4 playoff goals in OT.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators

5:00 PM PT - Canadian Tire Center- Ottawa, ON

It probably shouldn't come as a shock this morning that the Penguins announced that they're going to go with Matt Murray in goal tonight instead of Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury gave up 4 goals in the 1st period of Wednesday's loss before being pulled, and you had to know that despite how well he's played, the first time he had one of those MAF games, he was done now that Murray's recovered from the injury he suffered in the warmups for the first game of the playoffs.

Murray was a revelation last year as he helped lead the Penguins to a Stanley Cup, but is this an overreaction to be being utterly and thoroughly outcoached? Sure, he got ventilated, but when you look at how those goals happened, the Sens looked like men playing against boys. The Penguins had no clue how to defend against Ottawa in that game. Now Mike Sullivan is hoping Murray can stop the bleeding and that Game 5 Sunday in Pittsburgh isn't an elimination contest.

Alexandre Burrows, who suffered a lower body injury in Game 3 will likely be a game time decision. And as if the Penguins aren't banged up enough, add Tom Kuhnhackl to Justin Schultz, Bryan Rust and Patrik Hornqvist on the list of players who will probably be out for tonight's game.

GAME DAY BATTLE HYMN

True then, true now. Nuclear Assault with a classic: BRAINWASHED.
