As a lifelong Oriole fan watching the Baltimore Orioles has definitely had its ups and downs. I remember sitting on my dads lap as a little boy as we watched the Orioles play live at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. At 8 years old seeing that big ball park was such an exciting moment in my life and being able to spend it with my dad was even that more special. I used to listen to him and my grandparents who were die hard Oriole fans as well talk about the good ole days of the birds and how things were done right and for the first time in my life I heard the term “Oriole Way”

The Oriole Way was something they spoke of often and always brought a smile to there faces. It was a term that became common in my family when you did something the right way. If you made a good decision in your life or just a good deed it was referred to as the Oriole Way. Over the past 20 or so years I feel like this phrase has lost a bit of steam and has lost all legitimacy when it comes to the Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles are currently sitting dead last in all of Major League Baseball and are on pace to have one of the worst seasons in franchise history. To go along with that, 161 million dollar man Chris Davis is on pace to have the worst Major League Baseball season by a player in the history of baseball. I say this again…..THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL!

Manny Machado seems to have played his last game in an Oriole uniform and at 26 years old is about to enter the prime of his career and given the numbers he has already put up that is a scary thought. Once again the Orioles are going to let a franchise player walk just like they have in the past and continue to be the MLB’s farm team. It’s time for a change and that change cant come quick enough.
