Sergio Aguero urges supporters to support Messi

Lionel Messi had a bad day at work after missing a penalty against Iceland in Argentina’s 1-1 draw.

Sergio Aguero scored the first one for Argentina in the 19th minute but Iceland responded quickly with Alfred Finnbogason equalised just four minutes later.

In the 64th minute, Messi stood up to take a penalty but could not get better of Hannes Por Halldorsson.

Sergio Aguero insists that Leo needs support from the squad after having a dejecting day at work.

Speaking after the game, Aguero told ESPN, “The first match is always the most difficult. Everyone wants to play against us. They were defending, their only chances to score were from a set piece or looking for the second play. I think they celebrated the draw as a victory.”

Aguero then went on to speak about Messi’s miss as he said, “Leo showed he’s human. We support him. He just had a bad day but we know that he can give us the victory at any moment of the game. I hope he can be better for next match against Croatia.”
