Trent Alexander-Arnold notched his first international goal against the United States and became the Youngest Liverpool player in nearly 20 years to do so.

The Reds right-back charged forward into the attack with England having gone up 1-0 just minutes before thanks to a brilliant curling effort from Jesse Lingard.

Alexander-Arnold was played forward into the area by fellow youngster Jadon Sancho, and the full-back did not miss his chance, firing a low drive across goal that beat USMNT goalkeeper Brad Guzan in the 27th minute.

The youngster not only picked up his first ever England senior team goal, coming in his fifth senior cap, but became the youngest Liverpool player to do so in almost two decades.

Michael Owen scored in September 1999 for the Three Lions against Luxembourg at the age of 19 years and 264 days. Alexander-Arnold’s goal has come with him 20 years and 39 days.

Alexander-Arnold had scored four times at youth international level for England, before netting his first senior goal.

The full-back wasn’t the only player to net his first for the Three Lions on the evening.

Callum Wilson struck in the second half to make it 3-0 in England’s favour, and in the process, scored on his Three Lions bow.

Wilson became the first England player to score in his debut since Marcus Rashford managed it in May 2016.

He also became the first ever Bournemouth player to score for England.
