Antix, an app created to make Gopro video editing easier, is now available on iOS. The app, which launched on Android last year, uses a smartphone’s multiple sensors to track movement throughout video Footage and creates clips of what it feels are the best moments. The app is intended to cut down on the labors of video editing, most of which are spent sifting through hours of footage.
Users can start recording on their GoPro wirelessly using the Antix app. It will put together the highlights of the captured videos and awards individuals a score based on their tricks and abilities. The app also tells where the user was during each moment, and uploads the location onto an interactive map.
Similar to other fitness-tracking apps, Antix is working to create a community for extreme sports athletes that is interactive and competitive. Users have the ability to share their videos on social media as well as Antix’s own “Vine-like” platform. Antix members can view, like,and comment on other member’s videos. The platform will feature the best uploads and most trending hashtags.
The app is also convenient.
Once it starts recording, it will instantly begin tracking movements. It does not require any data or cellular signal to continue recording, and users can keep their phone idle to save some battery.
Antix is currently only compatible with GoPro, but additional hardware will be supported in the future. The developers of the app are also looking to expand its features to further enhance footage.
This powerful app is intended for a niche market, but if you are into competitive sports and have a GoPro, it will certainly save you time editing. It might also inspire you to start posting more footage that would normally sit in a folder somewhere on your computer. Unless you go through every minute of your footage, you will never be sure if Antix is capturing all of your best moments, but it is sort of the point not to.
The Android version of the app that launched last year holds a user rating of 4.6 out of 5.
