There is something different about manager Jose Mourinho’s and his third season at Manchester United. It seems that he is really trying to hold his team together unlike his previous managerial stint at Chelsea when it seemed just a matter of time until he got his marching orders. This is coming after United came back from 0-2 down to win 3-2 against Newcastle United at Old Trafford in their recent English Premier League fixture.
Speculation was already ringing around the world before that match, Mourinho would be sacked no matter what the result against Newcastle. Some Manchester United fans were even booing the team after the half time whistle seeing the team’s shambolic performance.

It seemed that there were two different United teams on that day and the one which turned up after half time might be the saving grace that Mourinho needed.
Speaking to BT Sport via the Guardian, Mourinho said,
“I go to London tonight, if it rains in London tomorrow, it’s my fault. If there is a problem with Brexit, it’s my fault.
This is new, it makes me not just a better manager but even a better person.
I understand things in the human nature nowadays and in the industry where I work, I used to love it, I still love it is but it is different.”

The match against Newcastle United brought a sigh of relief to United fans after seeing their team going on a run of 4 games without victory. The game against Newcastle did not begin on a good note with visitors scoring two quick fire goals inside first 10 minutes, the first time that has happened to Manchester United in the Premier League era.
The first substitution came as early as the 18th Minute with Mourinho taking off Eric Bailly and putting on Juan Mata. Marouane Fellaini came on for Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba moving to a centre half position.
The comeback started with a sublime Juan Mata freekick after which Anthony Martial scored the equalizer playing a neat one two finish with Paul Pogba. Alexis Sanchez completed the comeback heading the ball into the net in the 90th minute sending the stadium into raptures.
Mourinho reflected on the victory saying, “You can win, you can lose, but that dignity must always be there.”
With the latest reports suggesting that Pogba had suggested the tactical change to Mourinho during half time, it seems that all is not lost between the duo and it could still go well for United.
