Why Laurent Koscielny’s words should be heeded ahead of the end of the season

In the aftermath of the news of Wenger stepping down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season, a wave of shock, mixed with positive emotions swept through all in and around the Emirates.

There were messages coming from all over the footballing world congratulating and thanking Wenger for his tremendous services to the club. Be it the current squad or the former gunners, all peeped in with their wishes. One of them has been our present captain Laurent Koscielny

In this regard, long serving Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has urged his teammates to make sure that Wenger wins the Europa League this year. The Gunners face the mighty Atletico Madrid at the Emirates in the 1st leg of the semi final in a couple days time, and the Frenchman wants it to be a perfect night for the manager.

Speaking to the official website, he told:

“I think the boss has done a great job for this Club and he’s still not finished. The book is nearly finished but we have seven finals to play and we want to give him a happy end.”

Wenger signed Koscielny from Lorient in 2010 and since then, the Arsenal vice captain has gone on to make 238 appearances and scored 19 goals for the club and the Three Time FA Cup and Community Shield winner is now thinking big. He added:
Why Arsenal will now Surely Win against Atletico Madrid In the Europa League Semis

“Wenger gave the chance for other players to play for this club and believes in us so now we need to do a job just for him. What he did for many years for the club is unbelievable so all the fans, all the people who work in this club and all the players, they have a lot of respect for him. He’s a great coach and a great man.”

Koscielny will be up against Fernando Torres and Antoine Griezmann, and will need to make sure they are kept quiet. Diego Costa is injured and will most probably miss the clash.

Laurent Koscielny is one of the many who realize the impact Arsene Wenger has made in their lives and no doubt feels indebt to his campatriot for bringing him to the league when he was a seeming no body and making him the player that he is today.

He has always spoken highly about Wenger’s influence in his life and his role in his development and that is why feels it is imperative that Arsenal provide him the farewell that Arsene so richly deserves for everything that he has done for him and everyone that Wenger has impacted during his time at the club.

All the positivity around the Emirates makes one feel that this might be the year Arsenal will really pull it off, and the French International has set his sights on it. It won’t be easy though, as Arsenal need to be in full flow to get a result against Simeone and co. In any case, it will definitely be a game of high intensity, emotion as a place in the finals and a chance to right so many wrongs is up for grabs.
