BATE Borisov vs Rosenborg Match Preview

This seems to be one of the most suitable ties in the second qualifying round of the Champions League and we support BATE Borisov to lead narrowly to Norway.

The teams made it through their opening tests in a contrasting style and while Rosenborg comfortably was more impressive, they seemed to have received a much easier draw.

Rosenborg faced Linfield, champion of Northern Ireland, and won 6-0 on aggregate with Anders Konradsen scoring twice in the second leg in Trondheim.

BATE had to work harder, but their opposition was Polish champion Piast Gliwice who was recognized as competing in the Champions League for the first time.

With a 2-1 aggregate down to the last 10 minutes of the second leg in Poland, BATE appeared to be out but they reversed the match with a Hervaine Moukam penalty and a decisive goal from Zakhar Volkov.

The two clubs are in the middle of their domestic season and are in good shape, although Rosenborg has a lot of work to do if they want to capture Molde at the top of the table and retain the Eliteserien title.

There may not be much in it during these two matches, but BATE is a difficult proposition at home - where they beat Arsenal in the knockout round of the European League last season - and imagined to take advantage of the return match in Scandinavia.

On the other hand, Rosenborg did not win in ten of the last sixteen on the road, and importantly, failed to maintain their level last year. Thus, expect the host to be superior here.

But keep in mind that BATE failed to keep clean sheets in seven of their last nine matches, and in four of their last five home matches. Also, Rosenborg have scored four or more goals in their last two matches. Regardless of road constraints, they must find the back of the goal at least once this Wednesday.
