Championship Predictions: Aston Villa, Cardiff and Wolves to win?

Games that were postponed two weeks ago will be played now. It’s only six games, but a lot can be changed. If Wolves continue their losing run, and Cardiff continues winning, they can end up having the same amount of points. Cardiff is in much better form than Wolves recently and it is nice to finally see the fight for the first place.

Aston Villa vs QPR

Fulham and Aston Villa are both chasing second place and straight promotion. For Aston Villa this is a big opportunity to get closer to Cardiff. They will play at home against QPR and recently they have been in amazing form. QPR has won only two away games this season and their away performance has been awful so far. Aston Villa is having a big injury list, but none of their key players are injured. Lewis Grabban, Robert Snodgrass and Albert Adomah are all in amazing form, and after their 4-1 win against Wolves, they will have much more confidence and they’ll easily find a back of the net against QPR.

Aston Villa to win: 3-0

Barnsley vs Norwich

These two sides are in bad form this whole season. However, Norwich has been fine in away games and they will give their best to find the win against Barnsley on Tuesday. Playing against the side that’s fighting for survival is never easy, and Barnsley will work hard to get at least a point. Considering the fact that Norwich is in bad form, Barnsley can easily manage to get a point from this one. James Maddison scored a hat-trick in their last game against Hull, but Norwich has lost that game after conceding four goals. Both clubs will probably score in this one too, but I would not expect any side to win.

Draw: 1-1

Brentford vs Cardiff

Big game for Cardiff and a tough one too. Brentford is fighting for play-offs and after they’ve lost against Millwall on Saturday, they will try their best to win this one. Cardiff is not scoring too many lately, but their form is amazing, five wins out of their last five games. Their defence is well organized now and they have improved their away performance. In games like this, the club with a better defence often wins, and although Brentford is good in defence lately, they have conceded much more than Cardiff this season. Both clubs are looking to achieve something big, but when you look at the form, Cardiff is having a better chance of winning.

Cardiff to win: 0-1

Ipswich vs Hull

Although Hull has managed to score four goals against Norwich on Saturday, they have won only two away games so far. They are in better form than most of their relegation rivals, but are they good enough to find a win against Ipswich? I wouldn’t say so. Although I expect a lot of goals from this one, Hull will probably try to get only a point as their away performance is not so good. Ipswich has been good at home at a beginning of the season, but now they are having a bad run. This game does promises a lot of entertainment, but it’s hard to say if any of these two sides is good enough to win.

Draw: 2-2

Sheffield United vs Burton

With a win in this one, Sheffield United will be back in their fight for play-offs. And although I think they are not yet ready for Premier League, of course that they will give their best to get into play-offs this season. Burton is an easy opponent, and although their away performance has been good this season, their squad is not good enough to win games like this. It’s an important game for both sides, Burton needs points to get away from relegation zone, and Sheffield United needs a win to continue their fight for promotion. Games like this are all about attack, and with Billy Sharp being in excellent form for Sheffield United, they have a better chance of winning.

Sheffield United to win: 2-0

Wolves vs Reading

Wolves are in bad form lately, but now they have a chance to learn from Reading what a bad form really looks like. Reading is having a hard time finding a back of the net, they were playing play-off finals last season and now they are fighting for survival. For Wolves, this is a great opportunity to get back on tracks. Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota are both fit to play and they will certainly be a big threat for Reading’s defence. Since Wolves are in bad form, Reading is having a good chance to score, but they don’t look good enough to get a good result from this one.

Wolves to win: 2-1
