It all started after Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer. The defending UEFA Champions League winners are yet to find a proper replacement for the Portuguese superstar, who aided them to victories on numerous occasions.
Real Madrid are looking to sign an experienced attacker in the January transfer window to bolster their attacking department. Their forwards have been inconsistent in producing results so far this season. With Cristiano Ronaldo gone and Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Asensio struggling to address Real Madrid’s problem upfront, Los Blancos have floundered this season.
Their dismal performance and shock defeats even led the club to the sacking of Julen Lopetegui. Although his replacement Santiago Solari has steadied the ship, it remains to be seen how long their attackers will perform with consistency.
It is under these circumstances that Real Madrid are looking to sign proven attackers. Former FC Barcelona superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and AS Monaco star Radamel Falcao lead the list. Reports also suggest Real Madrid could land a bid for England international and Tottenham Hotspur attacker Harry Kane.
However, it is unlikely that Harry Kane will join Real Madrid in the winter transfer window. Meanwhile, Zlatan or Falcao could be short-term options for Real Madrid to solve their inconsistency up front. Zlatan has impressed one and all with his performances for LA Galaxy in America. Nevertheless, only time will tell if Zlatan will be a solution to Real Madrid’s problem.
If Real Madrid keep on performing the way they did during Solari’s tenure as interim coach – he is now their permanent coach – the arrival of Zlatan or Falcao will be an icing on the cake. Bale and Benzema must hold more responsibility and should start delivering results.

Falcao and Zlatan are two players who Real Madrid could sign with a low-budget. The Los Blancos are likely to sign a top-quality forward in the Summer transfer window, and the one they are looking to sign in the January transfer window has to be a short-term one. It remains to be seen if Zlatan will join Real Madrid.
