Jose Mourinho delaying Alex Sandro’s move to Manchester United?

Alex Sandro has been linked to Manchester United the whole summer but a move to the Premier League hasn’t materialised for one reason or the other.

Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo was a sensation coup for the Serie A champions. The Turin based club broke the bank to secure the Portuguese superstar and will look to ship out a few to balance the books. On the list is left back, Alex Sandro. The Brazilian hasn’t been on good terms with Max Allegri and Manchester United look to cash in.

Mourinho to give another chance to Shaw

Ed Woodward, the current Executive Vice-Chairman of Manchester United, is ready to spend money to bring in Sandro. United are looking to work out a deal which involves Matteo Darmian going the other way. Darmian’s agent has confirmed that the talks with the Old Lady have reached advanced stages.“Talks? Progressing very well. We’re at an advanced stage with Juventus,” he said.

But Jose Mourinho has decided to give Luke Shaw another go. The 23-year-old will be getting a run of games in the pre-season tour with Ashley Young enjoying a deserved break.“I am worried because I am not training and then I [have to] go to the Premier League without lots of players. Maybe it is good for Shaw, Bailly and Periera.”

Luke Show on his future

Luke Shaw has reiterated his desire to earn a spot in Jose Mourinho’s starting 11.”There are opportunities for all the players, not just me,” he told a press conference.“I look at it like that. The next five games are about fitness.”I want to prove to the manager that I can be on his team. When everyone comes back, I still want to be the first name on the team-sheet. It’s time for me to show him I can be on the team.”

“It has been disappointing,” he continued. “I look back over the last few years and I’ve not had a massive run in the team. The year I broke my leg I felt strong – it was unfortunate. I know what I can do and that’s why I am still here. I don’t think I would still be involved if the manager didn’t believe in me.”

Author’s take-

Luke Shaw can make the left-back berth his own. But he needs to get his act together. The is no doubting his quality and it is good to see Jose giving him another chance. It is up to him to grab the opportunity and “be the first name on the team-sheet” as he answered.
