Myth Busters: Christ-lovers don’t Convert or Condemn…

… THEY DISSEMINATE AND COUNSEL.

All Christians are neither Christ-lovers; nor are all Christ-lovers, Christians;by birth!

In this day and age when ‘religion’ is fighting its way to find a iron grip into the world to enjoin and show everyone who is boss; Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindu, Buddhist….anyone who is a part of a holy group will suffer. Religion is no longer a sacred word, nor does it hold the same meaning like it used to. Therefore one shouldn’t be viewing it in the same manner as they used to do so. Now, the words stereotyping, prejudices, violence, dominance, antagonism, negotiation are all too closely associated with the word ‘religion’.

The word ‘Christian’ is not free from taint.

So, what or who is a true Christian?

I don’t know the answer to that; however, I do know what maketh a Jesus Christ-lover believer and follower. For one, they are in love with and are always on fire for Jesus. Their heart beats for Him and their hands do His works. In this day and age, Christians and Christ-lovers are no longer the same kind. You will know them by the fruits they bear. They are not to be signified by the number of things they possess; but by their attitudes, character, unconditional love for another, words, knowledge, insight and on the whole, their patience towards those who do not share their same views.

A true Christ-lover’s heart bleed pain whenever they hear the news of another fellow Christ-lover being persecuted, hanged, beheaded; whilst doing the works of Jesus; and yet they still manage to continue doing the works of Jesus without fear and in total love. Unlike, many ‘Christians’ who hear the news and say, “Why did they have to go there…why preach to those…they deserved it…they feel absolutely nothing…”

Each time I open up the social network website, I come across comments on how Christians are this…that…shouldn’t…couldn’t…must…wish…hate…know…

So, I have decided to bust a few of the stereotype thinking of who or what us Christ-lovers truly are:

a) We convert people:

No.
My question to those who think us Christ-lovers convert people is, “If that is what we do, then how come you are not on our side?”

Let me clarify, we only disseminate the Bible verses. The choice to join us/ convert after is still in the minds and hands of those who hear what we speak. We do not enforce. We guide and are available to counsel everyone who needs some hand-holding.

If someone feels pressurized on account of what we speak or if they think we are preaching, it is not because of ‘us’, it is purely ‘the Self’ in them fighting amongst themselves. We do not drug, force, lockup, beat into, condemn anyone to join us. We were once exactly where they are, so we know what it feels like to be an outcast. We were saved in love, so we know how, what it feels like to be unloved.

b) We talk about our Savior all the time:

Yes.
Yes, we love to share Jesus, especially when we are invited to talk about Him. We also love showing Him off. It’s like, if you have a new best friend who has taken you off the street, saved you from addiction, given you hope after you have lost everything you cherished; basically care to save you out of a dark pit no one knew you were in. Showing off our only best friend Jesus, is one of our weaknesses.

c) We think we are better than others and know all the answers:

No.
We do not think we are better. However, we do read and meditate the Bible on a daily basis. As a result, we have a spiritual relationship and connection with our God. We are not expected to argue about the WORD, nor are we to scream it at someone arguing with us.
Patience is one of our God-given gifts. We know the difference, meaning between the Old and New Testament. We read the Bible with an open-mind, so we understand that is not understandable to those who are close-minded or those that judge us.

If and when you are shouting at us, cause you do not agree with something we have said, or, when you feel our answers to your questions is inadequate, please remember, it is because we believe in miracles—unexplainable phenomenon. We are true believers of signs and wonders, just like those mentioned in the Bible. For example, we believe diseases can disappear, we believe everyone has a chance at a new beginning; we believe someone who has had nothing can have everything and become a bigwig in the name of Jesus. All this can happen in a heartbeat!-Miracle!

d) We believe in eternity:

Yes.
We believe in Heaven and Hell; good vs. evil Spiritual Warfare. In other words, we believe our body was made of dust; our spirits which God blew into us is for him to keep after our body turns back to dust. Our soul, the choice-reason tool, is the part which will be judged. In other words, while we are here on earth, we have to be doers of his WORD and use our gifts to his glory. That does not mean we have no life, it just means we know who is responsible for us and whom we are answerable to. Present is what matters to us!
Eternity is where the one who is responsible for us lives; so, it is only probable we visit him when the time is set.

We talk about eternity because we know what hell here on earth looks like. So it is obvious heaven is the total opposite. We talk. Why? Because, just like how you like talking to us about things that fascinate you; eternity is what fascinates us.

e) We think our Jesus stands for all…

Yes.
If you knew Jesus you would understand why we think he is the coolest guy who has walked here on earth. He tells us to have a servanthood attitude.

He advices us to be of service to all those are in need. “Walk in love at all times”, he says.
“Never forget you were in darkness before I save you. Go be of help to someone who is in darkness like you once were. Do not have a slave or a doormat mentality. So, if you are not expected to be captivity, do not hold another as one. Save those who are living in slavery everyday! Walk the earth with a purpose. Do not close your eyes to evil or remain silent when you know someone is being oppressed.”

f) We say our God is better than…

No.
If we say our God is better than anyone else, it means we compare Him to others. We cannot compare Him to anyone. He is unique, just like his creations are. We just know he saves everyone and anyone irrespective of their belief when they need help and are going through troubled times in mind-body-spirit. We have read about how he used to heal mind-body-spirit, both the non-believer and believers equally, unbiased when he walked the earth. We are expected to do the same. So, we are followers; following His acts.

So, you tell me, if you are in love with someone would you not think your love is better than anyone else and want to share Him?
