HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR MIND

For a loong time, I had struggled with keeping my mind focused and clear.

In fact, I  would Honestly say that I had lost grip of my own mind to the point  that I would go on  trips of overwhelming disorganized thoughts which would leave me mentally exhausted.

What this did was that it prevented me from paying ATTENTION, being PRESENT in memorable situations and being at a place of Peace.

It also affected my spiritual life in that I couldn’t be STILL and MEDITATE on Gods words or listen to what He had to say

THE TURNING POINT

I would always tell God that I really wanted to FOCUS on Him but I couldn’t because I had lost grip of my brain.

Over time I begun to notice a change in my thought life.

Honestly, I did not make any lifestyle changes or any changes for that matter… I just woke up and realized that I had a lot more CONTROL over my brain.

Truth be told, this was God’s doing 100%.

However

I still had THINKING PATTERNS that could slowly lead me back to my original state (like overthinking). Therefore, I knew I had to make adjustments. The first adjustment included decluttering my mind.

HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR MIND

Submit your mind to God

Like I said earlier, God took care of my problem. I had nothing to do with it. I didn’t even do any tricks.

It just happened.

However, even afterwards I realized that I had to do some maintenance by changing the way I think to prevent myself from going to that place again. Therefore, I saw the importance of constantly, submitting my mind and thoughts to God .

Spend time with family or friends

Even if you are a serious introvert, have that moment where you are around company because they help you relax and at times think a whole lot less.

Personally, I’ve always really really valued alone time but nowadays I am really seeing the IMPORTANCE of spending time with my family and friends. This is because they have really helped me see the bright side of life and have taught me that ‘life is never that serious.’

Do Do Do

If you are the kind who likes to feed on knowledge and dream a lot but not take them into action, then you will find that over time those thoughts become TIRESOME and take up unnecessary space in your mind. This is because they are not being taken into good use. Therefore, ACTING on your thoughts is also a way of decluttering your mind

Don’t always try to figure things out

I am a curious person and sometimes I want to know the answers to everything. But I have learned to at times just let things be. As a result, I  have moments where I CHOSE not to think or try to figure out something especially if it won’t add any value in my life.

Constantly be at that place of peace

When I feel really worrisome or anxious, I continuously recite this verse: I have the peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil 4:7). Truth be told, this verse really helps me TRANSITION into that peaceful wonderful place.

How?

I have seen that the more you BELIEVE in something, the more it begins to MANIFEST in your life

The more you BELIEVE in something, the more it begins to MANIFEST in your life

Sleep

Sometimes an exhausted or negative mind is as a result of lack of rest. So make sure you get your sufficient hours of sleep.
