Higher Love
Love may not be all that you need, but it certainly is an important part of what we do need. Douno is pointing out that there are different kinds of love. Specifically, he mentions Divine Love, and ordinary human love. Obviously, the Divine Love in the Higher Love.
Too Much Love
Is it possible to have too much love? Not really. But it is possible to use the word so much, and for such mundane things, that it starts to lose any meaning for us. When we say we love our spouse, our parents, our children and our God, we are using the word sensibly. When we start replacing “like” with “love” and saying we love pizza, we love ice cream, we love action movies, and so on, we belittle the word. Using the word that way, causes it to lose much of its importance.
Love is not a superficial thing. You cannot truly love a sandwich or a car. If you think you can, than you don’t understand love. You can like objects, desire objects, appreciate objects, but you can’t love them. Real love, especially Divine Love, can only be for living beings.
Love and Hate
Douno says that Love does not allow hate. You can have superficial love, and still hate, but not Higher Love. One who truly experiences higher Love cannot hate because she sees that there is a spirit in everything, a bit of God, in a sense, in all beings. Therefore, we cannot hate anyone if we have that higher love active in us.
The Path
The path to higher love is the same as the path to higher consciousness or enlightenment. It starts with awakening the soul. Not a piece of the brain-mind, but the actual Soul which is something completely different. We awaken that soul with the spiritual light that comes to us from the spiritual sun. Once awakened and nourished, that true Soul can experience that higher love. Over time, some of that divine love filters down into the brain-mind and we learn to truly love all. And when we all do that, we will have peace in the world. And as we continue to “feed” our soul that spiritual light, we reach even higher love and higher worlds.
