How To Use OpenSSL To Decrypt Multidoge.key

After a long time without touch when the price of DOGE was still very low, I found out that Multidoge might take a long time to sync the network, especially after running a blockchain reset process.

So that I wanted to export the DOGE in Multidoge t to another wallet faster and didn’t need to wait for the syncing.

Luckily, Multidoge is available for you to export all the Private Keys in one file called Multidoge.key, if you don’t set a password for it, you can simply open it with TextEdit or Notepad or similar app and see all those private keys.

If you have set a password for it just as what I did, you need to decrypt it first.

And to do so, you just need to open your Terminal app on Mac, locate to the folder where you save the multidoge.key file, then enter the following commend:

openssl aes-256-cbc -d -a -in multidoge.key -out multidoge2.key

Press the Enter/Return button and enter the password you used for the exported multidoge.key file.

After that, the encrypted multidoge.key will be decrypted as multidoge2.key, which can be opened directly with TextEdit or similar app mentioned before.

When you have all the private keys of your Multidoge wallet, you can import them to another 100% synced wallet, such as Doughwallet (iOS), Dogecoin Wallet (Android), Block.io (Browser), etc.

By the way, if there are too many private keys on your Multidoge wallet, it maybe take a lot of time to import them one by one, in this case, you’d better keep using Multidoge and wait for the sync to finish to spend your DOGE.
