Lotus Notes created NSF database to store email messages and calendar data. Now you’ve switched to Microsoft Outlook, but you just can’t access your old mailbox content stored in NSF database. Why? The reason is simple, Outlook doesn’t support NSF file format. This is why NSF to PST conversion becomes a necessary task for IBM Notes users. Luckily, Lotus Notes provides you two different file formats into which you can save your NSF database files’ content: Comma Separated Value and Structured Text. And the good is that both these file formats are supported by Outlook client. First, you can save your NSF file into any of these file formats. And after that, you can import this new file to Outlook client by using its Import feature.

Step 5: If you choose Comma Separated Value, the CSV Export dialog box will appear

Define the options and click OK to save the file.

Step 6: If you choose Structured Text, the Structured Text Export dialog box will appear

Define the options and click OK to save the file.

Import to Outlook Client

Now you need to import this new file to MS Outlook client. How will you do that?

Step 1: Open MS Outlook client on your system.

Step 2: Click the File tab in the taskbar. Select Open in the options > Import.

Step 3: On the Import and Export Wizard, choose an action to perform. Select Import from another program or file in the options, and click Next to continue the process.

Step 4: On the Import a File dialog box, select a file type to import from. Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) in the options, and click Next to continue the process.

Step 5: Now browse the location and select the file you’ve created earlier. Also, select the options there (optional). Click Next to go to the final step of this process.
