Social Media
Okay, so you’ve started a blog, you’re getting some traction. Your traffic is growing. But then. . . it goes flat. Or maybe you get stuck. Or maybe you just want to go to the next level, and you’re not sure what to do next. Maybe you’re not making money with your blog, but you’d like to start. . . and have no idea how. Perhaps you simply want to grow your email list, but aren’t sure what steps to take in order to do that.
The answers are almost endless, but it’s easy to get confused by the sheer amount of information available on the Internet. But don’t worry; I’ve got you covered. Below, I’ve listed some of the Social Media tactics I’ve used to help grow my blog, including tips for Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram.
Facebook Groups
I’m a member of a whole bunch of Facebook groups, and they are super helpful and supportive. These are just a few that I love and have helped me grow my engagement and traffic. Bonus: All of these groups are amazing for advice and information if you have specific questions!

The Blog Squad
These are just a few of the ones I’m a member of. There are hundreds of group boards out there; a wonderful resource for finding blogs specifically dedicated to your niche is Pin Groupie. Just go there, type in your search term, and poof! Groups for you.
Twitter Re-Tweet Accounts
Did you know that there are communities on Twitter solely dedicated to supporting bloggers and re-Tweeting content? I had no idea about this until about a month and a half ago! There are tons of them, and like other social media platforms, the users are very supportive of each other. When you publish a Tweet about your blog post, simply tag these accounts, and they may re-Tweet you! No guarantees, but I’ve had some great success with them, and they play fair and try to promote everyone that tags them equally. Be sure to follow the accounts before you tag them! I’ve listed them below by account name, Twitter handle, and the tag you need to use when you mention them.

Instagram Hashtags
Instagram Hashtags can be tricky to figure out. Should you use really popular ones? Medium popular? Your own that don’t have any other people using them? The answer is, yes, LOL. It’s good to use a mix of hashtags that differ in popularity levels, and you should always use the 30 that Instagram allows for maximum engagement. If you want to look a little less cluttered (read: spammy), leave a few lines between your text and the hashtags, like this:

Pinterest Unpuzzled
This e-course by Eden Fried is one of the first investments I made when I started blogging – and I’m so glad I did! It’s a great introductory course to Pinterest that has a fair amount of detail without being overwhelming. It helped me to get to over half a million monthly views and counting!
