What I’ve Been Doing? Month 1: Weight Loss | RM

It has been raining a lot lately and it feels so nice and cozy. The air was really cool and it’s just the right weather to have a nice cup of hot chocolate and blog or watch a movie. I recently just watched Jurassic World 2 so if you haven’t, you need to watch it.

I have always been conscious with my weight and have always been insecure of how I look like. I know I should just love and embrace my flaws, but it’s not as easy as how you say it to people. If you have been following me or have been friends with me for years, you’ll know that I was overweight and that I lost a lot of weight, like a lot.

Adulting has never been nice to any of us, including me, so I took up a job of freelancing which gave a good wage. But the lack of physical activities made me inactive; lack of exercise. I started working out last year November 2017 and Stopped at around February 2018 because my job has been so stressful. I love the company I worked in but I also needed to think about my mental health, so I left last May 2018.

During the months I started being inactive again when I stopped working out, I gained a lot of weight again. I never did stress eating back then but I did, to the point where I’d binge eat, and then I would feel bad about it afterwards, so I’d sleep to stop stressing myself even more.

I started working out again last May 08, 2018. I’ve never tracked my weight and would only just base on how I’d look like. Here’s a picture of my FIRST WEEK and THIRD WEEK of working out.

I used to crash diet a lot back then but I learned that when I do eat less while working out, I lose muscles instead of fats. In all of the years after I started to lose weight, I keep getting rebounds because.. I’ve been lazy. Lol. I went from 130kg to 58kg, but because of little to no motivations after I hit 58, I went back to.. probably around 65 ~ 70. Which made me feel really bad and I thought this time, when I hit back to 58 or lower, I’ll do my best to maintain that.

Here are some examples of what I eat:

For breakfast, I most eat cereals with fruits or a bowl of oat congee with either an egg or small pieces of chicken. I alternate them everyday. That, or salad.
I had two pieces of okra, purple yam that I cooked with olive oil and seasoned it with a little bit of salt and pepper and a piece of fried salmon. For lunch, I mostly eat fruits but there are also times where I would crave for foods like this.
I mostly eat once or twice a day because I get so full very quickly, especially when I’ve forgotten to eat. But when I’m hungry, I always snack on either fruits or sweet potato/purple yam fries or a granola bar.

I must say that I have been enjoying working out, especially doing ab crunches and plank, which was surprising since I used to dislike doing those exercises. I do about 100 to almost 200 ab crunches (with a little bit of cardio and weight lifting in between just to break it up.)

I recommend you looking up for REBECCA LOUISE on YouTube. She’s the reason why I went down to 58kg and she’s still my personal online trainer!

Tip: Don’t skip meals, because you’ll lose muscles instead of weight. Trust me, I’ve been there. Skipping meals was also the reason why I have a messed up stomach. I don’t enjoy my foods that much anymore because I get so full even with a very small portion.

To also avoid my anemia to attack me, I try to eat three times a day. Anemia, smh.

Anyway, here’s a picture of my FIRST WEEK and FIFTH WEEK. I wore the same shirt just so I could see if there really is an improvement.

The reason as to why I lost this much weight in only a month was because I think I only gained water weight when I stopped working out last February 2018. It’s always nice to eat healthy because even if I do get full, I wouldn’t feel that bad and regret eating a lot afterwards. Oh, and I do have cheat days to prevent myself with Food depriving.
