Let’s Talk About Food | Kuya J

Hey guys! It’s another food post! Recently, I’ve been eating more than the calories I consume in a day. But, that’s okay. Good food makes me happy.

I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews about this restaurant called Kuya J. It recently just opened in our local mall and I’ve actually tried eating there before with my sister but I didn’t blog about it as I was busy fixing and updating my mac book.

Anyway, I liked their stir fry noodles and I told about this to my sister and we thought about trying other things on their menu as well.

Apparently, this is Kuya J’s specialty shake. It’s a hit like a four season shake. Though, the fruits includes cucumber, ripe mango, banana and I think it’s melon?

We also ordered this deep fried shrimp and I Honestly just found out that you can eat the skin of the shrimp. Lol.

Baked scallops. This was similar to what my sister usually order in Joyful Japan. Though, that one is Mussel and not a scallop. The Taste of the butter in this dish was too strong and I kind of dislike it since I don’t really fancy anything with butter.

Kare-kare. My family is really picky when it comes to kare-kare since it’s my mother’s specialty but my sister approved to this dish. Sadly, I didn’t get to try it.

The true meaning to a deep fry is the crunchy outside and yet the softness of the meat inside. Despite looking really dry, the meat was really soft and you could honestly hear the crunchiness of the skin.

I forgot the name of this dish but it’s an egg with eggplant inside.

I liked this one the most. I like bitter-gourd but I don’t like eating it when it taste really bitter especially when it’s cooked with meat. But, this dish made the bitter-gourd taste less bitter and I like the sweetness of the sauce.

Roasted chicken. I’ve also heard about Kuya J being Max’s level. But, honestly, I like Kuya J’s roasted chicken more than Max’s. Max’s chicken is just too dry for my taste and I honestly don’t really fancy it.

Crispy pata. I honestly avoid eating any fattening foods but this one is tasty. Of course, it was consumed limited by me. Haha.

Halo-halo! Oh, I love halo-halo! It’s probably one of my favourite filipino sweets and ugh. I like the taste of their ice. It’s like and ice cream and or milk based and it’s not really sweet compared to the other halo-halo that I’ve tasted before. I don’t really like eating ube or taro cake but I ate it on this halo-halo.
