I was so excited to receive the Swann Smart Security Camera for review! I've never needed my own security camera, in fact, I used to feel so safe in the neighborhood that I would regularly leave my door unlocked but so much has changed since those days!

There has been a huge homeless encampment that set up just the next street over and its truly been a nightmare.  I live in West Hollywood, in quite a nice area. I used to leave my windows open at night to get a nice breeze but at night there are often disturbances these days. Last night I woke up to some man walking on the street below, yelling profanities at about 4 am in the morning. There is also obvious drug dealing and prostitution taking place.

Basically, I don't feel safe in my neighborhood. I definitely need a security camera now.

Here are the camera details

This camera is full HD so clear that you can see faces and even read license plates. It's a tough little beast so you don't have to worry about any rain or sunshine beating down on the device.

It's super easy to connect this camera via the app on your phone over wireless. The camera comes with a USB plug so there's no need to keep replacing batteries. Just plug it into your wall or computer and you're good to go!

It has a super long battery life and goes on sleep mode when its not filming so you should only have to recharge it a few times a year.

The camera detects heat, which is how it notifies you of activity. It stores up to 7 days of video content locally inside the camera and offers cloud storage also.

I love that you can set up the phone with push notifications to notify you if the camera has captured any activity.

Mounting the Camera

There are two main options to mount the camera. The camera comes with 2 stands. It comes with this magnetic stand which is super easy to use, just pop your camera on top of the stand and it holds on tight!

You can stick the stand somewhere convenient like a countertop in your hallway or on top of a bookshelf

The camera also comes with a mounting stand that you can affix to the wall via screws!

Overall, its an amazing camera that is so easy to use. I plan on purchasing a couple more for my unit!
