Food Trends for 2014 Weddings

February is a month for love! And it’s not only because of Valentine’s Day! While Valentine’s Day is largely why love is celebrated in February, it isn’t the only reason it should be. February is also considered Creative Romance Month and National Weddings Month. Since we love cooking up a storm for weddings, we thought it was only fitting to celebrate National Weddings Month by sharing some of the latest food trends you’ll see at weddings in 2014!

Finger Food Appetizers

While you are off taking pictures to remember your special day, your guests are waiting for you to arrive to have dinner. If you don’t want to arrive to hangry guests because their blood sugar is low, then serve easy to eat appetizers. Finger foods that can be eaten with only one hand are highly recommended so guests can hold on to the signature cocktail you chose for the reception.

Family Style

Many receptions are nixing the buffet and opting for family style meals this year. Guests will be able to sit and enjoy their meal without having everyone watch them make their way through the food line. This trend has been on the rise over the years, but it will likely be the most common choice for weddings this year!

More for Dessert

Brides and grooms have been ditching the traditional wedding cake for quite some time, but now things are being taken one step further. Dessert stations such as an s’mores bar or ice cream station are becoming a popular alternative or addition to the wedding cake. The dessert stations give guests more to munch on throughout the night.
