Social-Media Influences User #TravelInspo

#TravelInspo

We can’t log on to Instagram without getting jealous over people’s fashions, flawless make-up application, eating habits and now even holidaying adventures! There’s something about a really beautiful location enhanced by a Valencia filter that makes users go “#cray”!

According to research findings, millennials are influenced by the photos that Travel bloggers/journalists post so much so that they turn to them for both exotic content and most importantly, #travelinspo. Apparently, users like to determine which locations their favourite bloggers have visited to add it their bucket list.

Findings suggest that users trust Instagrammers more than they do a travel agent. Rather than turning to brochures, millennials are choosing social media for the most dynamic and up to date information on attractions, airlines, hotels, events, even weather conditions. They’re choosing to trust the information fed to them from Travel Bloggers with a larger following over industry professionals.

When it comes to visiting a hotel, what’s the first thing you do? Check TripAdvisor and/or the like, right? Of course you do.

Blitz Agency found that millennials either trust word of mouth reviews (16%) or those posted on Facebook (15%) and/or Instagram (13%).

If you’re wondering how travel agents can use these figures to their advantage, the answer’s simple – they should start by identifying the power that consumers have to influence their friends’ and family members’ travel plans and work out ways to motivate customers to connect with them on social-media channels such as Instagram, sharing their pictures and positive experiences.

So, there you have it, next time you want some #travelinspo, follow or search some travel bloggers. We have embedded a few of our favourites below, check them out and follow.

Southern Sri Lanka, home base for the last several days. The plan: beach hopping around the town of Tangalle. Instead, I hopped between my bungalow and this sprawling, secluded wonder. One the more beautiful beaches I’ve experienced. Rest and decompression: good for body and mind.

Arrived in Morocco’s “Blue Pearl” ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Every twist and turn in Chefchaouen leads you through narrow streets tinted blue. This magical little house, tucked away in an unassuming alley corner, seemed like something dreamt up by JK Rowling. In the early hours of the morning, I watched the windows, imagining a house elf would appear but, instead, a cheerful man stuck his head out and smiled. Proudly, he waved us on encouraging us to take as many photos of his humble home as we wanted. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #morocco #chefchaouen #fujifilmx_us
