Steps to Grant Users Access to Your Facebook Page

Anyone who’s into the game of social media and digital marketing know the importance of having a presence on Facebook. That’s achieved with effective use of your Facebook page. Whether it’s a company or just a personal brand, it’s considered a standard norm by today’s practices to manage a Facebook page.

Whether it’s to make announcements to keep your fans engaged or up-to-date, we’re not here to preach the importance of having a Facebook page because the chances are, you probably already have one. Which is why you’re reading this in the first place. We’re here to inform you of how to go about granting access to your page to someone else.

If you’re a big company that doesn’t have the internal resources to manage your social media accounts, you’ve probably already outsourced that responsibility to either another individual to manage or a third party digital marketer. While the easiest step would be to just hand over your Account credentials to manage said account, it’s not always the most secure of options and for obvious reasons.

The alternative (albeit, recommended) way to go about it, is to grant the same, or lesser level of access to the party who will handle the responsibility of your page. While this may seem like a difficult task upon first hearing about it, it really is quite easy. While not as complex as granting advertiser access to another account, here are the steps to follow :

STEP 1

Open up your Facebook page. This is easy enough. If you’re managing a page through your personal account and cannot seem to find your page, be sure to head to the arrow on the top right of your screen (you use this to log out of your account). You’ll be greeted with a list of the pages you currently access.

(Note: You will need to have published your page first before being able to access it publically)

STEP 2

Once you’ve selected your page, head over to the page settings tab. To make it clearer, it’s the option accompanied by all other options associated with your page that you usually see on the top of your page. Click Setting which as you’ve probably guessed, will take you to your page settings.

STEP 3

Once you’ve opened up the page settings, you’ll be greeted with a variety of settings. This may seem intimidating at first sight, but don’t panic. Along the left of the page, you’ll see options with regards to different attributes such as messaging, notifications and so on. Move your cursor over the Page Roles section and click.

STEP 4

Once you’ve selected page roles, you’ll be greeted with a similar screen as below. As the name suggests, you’ll be given the opportunity to choose and determine who will have access to and better yet, what kind of access will they be given.

STEP 5

Since you’ll probably be handing over all marketing duties to someone else, you’ll need to assign page roles to that person. Scroll down to assign a new role. You’ll be prompted to enter the person’s Facebook user name (Which is usually their real name). You’ll also have the option to assign their role specifically as an editor, moderator or even an admin who will have entire access to your page from ground-up.

(Note: In order to grant said user access, you’ll need to add them as a friend first)

STEP 6

Once you’ve granted the person access, be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the screen. Once you’ve done so, you’ve officially granted the other person access to your Facebook page.
