Reports - Level 1 & 2
For level 1 and 2 Functional Skills English, your learners may be expected to write a report for their exam. In fact, recently the writing format has been a popular exam question for the qualification.
This resource goes alongside a themed session based on childhood obesity. Suggested activities include a true or false quiz about the topic, a group discussion task about why childhood obesity is such a problem, analysis on TV junk food adverts and then some focus on report writing. Importantly, the session encourages learners to think about healthy lifestyles and allows them to enhance their understanding of personal and social development.
The report task allows learners to think about introducing their topic, findings (childhood obesity rates and issues in their local area), conclusion and recommendations for parents/schools.
