What Is a Physician’s Assistant (PA)?

A Physician’s Assistant, or PA, is an important member of a medical team. These skilled professionals carry out many of the same functions of a medical doctor. Requirements to Become a Physician’s Assistant in New Jersey

To become a Physician’s Assistant, students must obtain a master’s degree from an accredited institution. This typically requires two years of full-time postgraduate education. They must also must pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE).

Additionally, Physician’s Assistant program applicants are required to have a minimum of 200 volunteer / patient contact hours.
