There Are TWO More Mission: Impossible Movies Coming, Because Tom Cruise Is a Superhuman

Don’t worry, Mission: Impossible isn’t going anywhere.

The latest movie in the Tom Cruise action series – 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout – did so well at the box office and with critics, Paramount Pictures has confirmed that there are not one, but two more in the works.

Director Christopher McQuarrie is returning to write and direct both films, after doing the same on Fallout and 2015’s Rogue Nation.

The next two are expected to shoot back-to-back, and Cruise has confirmed on Twitter that the as-yet-untitled seventh movie is coming in 2021, with the eighth in 2022.

McQuarrie also tweeted Ethan Hunt-style: “Missions: Accepted”

And if the stunts on the last one weren’t death-defying enough, McQuarrie recently admitted that Cruise has some “world-topping shit” planned for Mission: Impossible 7.

The classic duo of McQuarrie and Cruise is certainly doing the business for the franchise, with Fallout making $791.1 million worldwide on a reported budget of $178 million. It was also the best-reviewed M:I movie yet with an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%.

The two also worked together on The Mummy, Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow and Valkyrie, and McQuarrie has co-written the screenplay for Cruise’s much-anticipated Top Gun: Maverick as well.
