What I thought

Wow, where to start with this bag? Firstly, when I travel I tend to take a lot of stuff in my hand luggage so need a decent sized bag. There’s a huge bottle of water, a tolietry bag, at least 2 books, phone, power bank, cables, eye mask, spare change of underwear (I learned this the hard way after my suitcase went missing in the Maldives) and, well you get the picture. Traveling light is not my thing!

The Mia Tui cabing bag is big and can be used as a regular handbag, or you can use the strap to wear it as a shoulder or cross-body bag (my usual preference when carrying a heavy bag). The inside space is really well thought out, with loads of different sized pockets, as well as a clear toiletry bag which means no more faffing around at airport security placing lipbalm and hand sanitiser gel in a plastic bag. Along with the clear cosmetic case, there is also a larger zipped bag, which with the addition of a second thinner strap, can be easily converted into an evening handbag.

Having so many pockets inside meant I could keep my passport, phone and so on in their own little pocket, so I always knew where everything was. I’m terrible for having large handbags with so much inside that it often takes me a good minute or so of looking around inside before I can find what I’m after, but the Mia Tui bag makes being organised easy.

All of the internal pockets inside the bag

One really clever touch is that there is a strap integrated into the back of the bag which is the perfect size for slotting over standard suitcase handles, so you don’t end up having to carry the bag if you don’t want to. It just so happens that my new suitcase has a super short handle though, so I ended up just looping the handles of my Mia Tui bag over the handle of the case, but it fitted perfectly on my daughters standard suitcase handle.

On the plan with my bag

The verdict

This is a superb travel bag and with lots of different colours available it’s easy to find one you’ll love. I wanted to go for one that would go with anything which I why I chose the bronze colour. I’d normally choose silver, but it looked a bit too ‘white’ on the website, and the bronze turned out to be a really versatile choice.

If the Jennie bag is a bit too big for you, there is a smaller version called the Mia Tui Elizabeth cabin bag or the Mini Jen cabin bag. It is worth noting that usually I don’t like faux leather bags as I find they can look and feel cheap, but the Mia Tui Jennie Cabin bag is great quality, it feels lovely and soft and doesn’t look like a cheap bag that’s pretending to be leather, it just looks like a good quality leather bag.
