What we thought
Like most people we are keen to do our little bit to help cut down our use of single-use plastics, and avoiding buying individual bottles of water is a great start! This kind of water bottle is something I’m already familiar with having owned a Hydroflask in the past which I use when traveling and at the gym, however, if you want a sports cap is extra you have to buy that seperately. I really liked the fact that the Red Original water bottle comes with a regular screw cap and a sports cap too which makes it much easier to drink from, for example when you’re on the treadmill.
I took this on holiday with me recently and found it brilliant for keeping my water cold during the long journey, and for taking out and about with me on walks, and on the various trips I did. I went on several dives whilst I was away and being able to reach into my bag after a dive and gulp down nice cold water in the blazing sunshine was great!
Looks wise, the simple stainless finish should appeal to all, and I liked the loop on the cap too, though occasionally I did find the screw cap a bit temperamental; bascially you just have to make sure you’ve lined it up and don’t try to put it on at a slight angle like I did!
This is a lovely looking and robust flask that makes it much easier to carry water with you, making it less likely you’ll need to resort to buying bottled water. I’ve also kept it on my desk at work to encourage me to drink more water and becuase it stays cool all day, I’ve found it really helps me drink more.
For travel in particular I think it’s really useful and the fact that it’s made out of marine grade Stainless Steel means that even with continued use and the bumps and scrapes I’m sure it will pick up over time, it will still remain in tip top condition.
It’s very light, so doesn’t add to much weight, for example when you are out walking, so it’s a thumbs up from me, and thanks to the lovely packaging (a nice looking cardboard tube) it would make a great gift for any outdoor lover.
