The Best Places To Listen To Reggaeton In Barcelona

Here in Barcelona, Reggaeton –  a style which includes hip hop, rapping, and rhythmic beats created in the Caribbean and Puerto Rico in the 1990s- is one of the most popular styles of music. And with the majority of the lyrics in Spanish, the style has become popular in Latin America, South America, Spain, and many other countries.

Reggaeton brings locals and visitors together through its inclusive style and easy to dance along to beat. And if your trip to the city falls in the summer months, make sure to listen out for la canción del verano (the song of the summer) which will undoubtedly be played all night long…

There are many clubs in Barcelona that play Reggaeton, most of them very different, so make sure to pick the one with the best vibe for you. Here are a few of our favourites…

Bling Bling

If you’re looking for a true clubbing experience, head to Bling Bling. In one room, the DJ plays the popular hits surrounded by a huge bar, flashing lights, and a dance floor. But the real party is in the next room… Step through the doors and the sound of pop music fades into the recognisable Reggaeton beat. The lights are dimmed, and the drinks are served in huge glasses. Here, Reggaeton is played all night, but heads up, it can get pretty busy, so make sure to switch between rooms from time to time to catch some air.

For more information, check out the Bling Bling website.

Address: Carrer de Tuset, 8

Mojito

Another place to enjoy Reggaeton music is Mojito, an authentic Spanish club. On Thursdays and Sundays, salsa music is played in Mojito, but on Friday and Saturday, Reggaeton and other international Latin music, blasts all night. Mojitos and other cocktails are also served, so make sure to get your hands on one at some point in the night…

As well as unmissable Reggaeton beats, Mojito has a school where you can learn to salsa dance with some of the best music and teachers…

For more information, check out Mojito’s website.

Address: Carrer del Rosselló, 217

Pacha

Tuesday is the best night to go to Pacha– a club located just feet from Barcelona’s beach- as their “Bombastic” themed evening gives DJs the chance to play Reggaeton and Latin music all night long. You can also catch Reggaeton beats most other nights at Pacha, except for Sundays which are dedicated to Techno.

After dancing all night long, why not head down to the beach and watch the sunrise? For more information, go to the Pacha online page.

Address: Ramón Trias Fargas, 2

Otto Zutz

Open from Wednesday to Saturday, Otto Zutz is another great club to check out for Reggaeton music. On the ground floor, DJs play pop and hip hop under the disco balls. But head upstairs and Reggaeton and Pachanga – a style similar to Merengue- are blasted through the speakers all night long.

To find out more, check out the Otto Zutz online page

Address: Carrer de Lincoln, 15

La Fira

La Fira is located in Eixample, one of Barcelona’s busiest neighborhoods, and is an original and true Reggaeton discoteca. The atmosphere at La Fira is one that shouldn’t be missed, so definitely make sure to stop by! You might even catch a live Reggaeton show if you’re lucky…

Address: Carrer de Provença, 171

Don’t Forget!

• Some places charge entry depending on the night, so make sure to bring cash with you
• Most clubs have a dress code – avoid shorts or sandals or anything overly casual
• Drinks prices can be high so head to a bar beforehand to avoid spending too much
• The metro stops running at 00:00 during weekdays and 02:00 on Fridays. It runs all night on Saturday.
• Night buses run all evening, and often take the same routes as the metro.

We hope you love Reggaeton as much as we do, and as always, make sure to follow us on Instagram and tag us in any of your party pictures!
