1. Pete Socks at Patheos recently reviewed my book, Fatima: The Apparition That Changed the World:
This year marks the 100th anniversary of Our Lady appearing to three shepherd children in the small town of Fatima Portugal. As such a number of books are being released to mark the occasion. A few of them I will review here. Today we will take a look at the recent release Fatima: The Apparition that Changed the World by Jean Heimann.
Before we get to what the book is about it must be mention that this is one gorgeous book. It is packed with full color pictures throughout and printed on heavy paper stock. This is one of those books that you will be able to pass on to other family members for years to come. Trust me, you are going to want to do this. Read more.
2. Speaking of Fatima, David Carrollo, the Executive Director of the World Apostolate of Fatima (the Blue Army), explains why it is so important that we pray the Rosary daily.
3. Here is a beautiful prayer composed by Fr. Peter Mary Rookey that I have recently reintroduced into my daily prayers:
The Miracle Prayer
Lord Jesus, I come before Thee, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In Thy Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give Thee my entire self, Lord Jesus, I accept Thee as my Lord God and Savior. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit.

4. Saturday, July 27 is the feast of St. Martha, patron of housewives and cooks. Martha was born into an aristocratic and affluent family, but she is most well-known for her gift of hospitality in serving Jesus.
Martha was the sister of Mary and Lazarus. They were close friends of Jesus, for whom he had great affection, and he often came to visit them in their home in Bethany. In fact, the Gospel tells us: “Jesus loved Martha and her sister Mary and Lazarus” (John 11:5). It was Martha who lovingly served the Lord when he visited them. One day, when she was preparing a meal for Jesus and his disciples, she realized that the task would be easier if her sister would help. She watched Mary sitting quietly at Jesus’ feet, listening to him. She asked Jesus to persuade Mary to help her. Jesus was pleased with Martha’s loving service. However, he wanted her to know that listening to God’s Word and praying is even more important. So he said gently, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious about many things, but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the better part.”(Luke 10:41-42). Read more.
5. Why I Wear My Brown Scapular is a great article! I wear mine daily and never leave home without it! Actually, the only time I take it off is when I shower or bathe.
