Text- James 5:16 – “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) Prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]”
There would be time when you Pray, that you will feel that your prayers are very inadequate. You may feel that your prayer is lame, weak, and shabby, worthless, confused, silly, or misguided. I have felt that way many times too!
At such times, we need to be reminded that the earnest prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available. I wish every Christian will recognize the great potential and power locked up in their prayer and begin to take it more seriously.
Thus far, we have established that when we pray, angels are released on assignment, the atmosphere changes, the heavens open, the Holy Ghost descends, and God speaks. Today, we will consider yet another thing that happens when we pray.
We read in Mark 1:35-37 “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: ‘Everyone is looking for you"
When you pray, God loads you with divine substance that will announce you to the world. Just as we saw in the above passage; when Jesus went to a secret place to pray, everyone began to look for him.
We see a parallel story in Luke 2:46, 48, “After three days they found him (Jesus) in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions… When his parents saw him… His mother said to him, ‘Son… Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.’”
When Jesus engaged the professors in conversation, only his family sought for him, but when He engaged God in conversation, everyone began to look for him. Oh! The power of spending time before God in prayer!
This was the same thing we see happen in Acts 4:13? “When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus”.
When you regularly exercise your Spirit as you commune with God in prayer, you have an advantage above the ordinary intelligent man! The substance you carry from the place of prayer will amplify your human efforts and power your destiny.
As you maximize your mental and intellectual capacity, ensure to also build spiritual capacity. The building up of spiritual capacity happens every blessed time you go before God in prayer!
PRAYER
Father, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplications. Help me to wholly trust in you as you produce wonderful results through my prayers in Jesus Name.
