Makara Sankranti Festival moments at Surya Savarnika Manavu Ashramam.

As usual this year also we have celebrated   Holy Makara Sankranti Festival at our residence i.e Surya Savarnika Manavu Ashramam in our Native Village Garloddu.. The festival Makara Sankranti was celebrated for 3 days at our Ashramam. First day Bhogi, second day Makara Sankranti and third day was Kanuma .

The First day Bhogi was held on 14th January and on that day , at dawn, we lighted a bonfire with waste wood which has collected from our fields as well as from home . The images of said Bonfire is shown below.

After  completing puja activities at Ashramam we all the family members went to Our Home Deity's  i.e Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple and participated in Goda Devi Kalyanam. Being as Founder Trustee of the the Temple it is pious duty upon me to  conduct Important ritual activities to our Home Deities at Temple . A part from that every year  we are conducting Goda Devi Kalyanam on Bhogi  Day.  Related images are shown below.

The second day i.e Makara Sakranti day our family members made beautiful drawings called "Muggulu " on the ground , in front of our Ashramam. Those Muggulu were decorated with colours and flowers. After usual works at home, they prepared Ariselu (a sweet made of jaggery and rice flour) and Chakraalu and made an offering to the gods at Ashramam. Related images are shown below.

Third day kanuma is dedicated  exclusively to the Animal particularly Cows. .  Gow puja helps to remove poverty , gives a family health , wealth and comfort and it  removes the deadliest sins ever committed . Its also helps to repay debts and gives strength to overcome enemies . So on that day we did Gow puja at our Go Sala which exists behind our Ashramam. Related images are shown below.
