We Are His Sheep

In recent weeks we have all felt the Tragedies of the Boston marathon and the explosion in Texas.   Within a few days of each other lives were lost and emotions running high.  With the thoughts of uncertainty and the reminder of 9/11 all over again.  The weight of the world weighing heavy on my heart.  Made me think of fear and worry of the unknown of what would happen next.

As I went on with the week I was reminded that we are not alone on this journey.  We are the sheep in need of the Shepherd.  It's times like this we need to put our faith in the Shepherd to lead the sheep out of the tragedies of this world.  The age old question "why would God allow these things to happen?" The answer I do not have, however I have to believe He has a greater reason for all this.

During this He shows compassion through the eyes and works of complete strangers that band together to help those in need.  Those that are willing to help others even in the line of danger.  He stands in the middle of it all.  With that in mind have faith that our Lord will restore our hope in Him.

I am not going to lie this past week I felt at a lost for what happened.  Which filled me with
anxiousness.  But I was reminded to put my faith and trust in Him.  Pray for those hurting and in need.

I want to share the bible verse that came across my path the last few days.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
"I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."
John 10:11

I do believe that Jesus does lay down His life for us.  Even in times of sorrow and hurt.  I pray that we can come together to pray for all those that are hurting right now.  The power of prayer can help to heal and restore those that need it most at this time.

Blessings,
R.C. Givens
