Today I am going to talk about Astrology.Now Astrology is viewed in many ways, to most people meaning non-Christians astrology is ok. Now according to the Catholic Church astrology is heretic or even satanic. One of the most famous groups of people that were involved with astrology is the Mayans.

What is Astrology?
The Webster definition of astrology is the divination of the supposed influences of the stars and planets on human affairs and terrestrial events by their positions and aspects. This is a good start on how to explain astrology.

Now astrology is mainly based of your birth (natal) chart. Your chart is made from information such as: your name birthplace and time you were born. Then from that information there is some advanced mathematics and geometry that will help you understand your chart. A good place to start in astrology is to get your natal chart done. Is Astrology Satanic?
The straight out answer to this is no. The way I like to view Astrology is a science that God gave to discover ourselves and even about him. Since we are "made in God's likeness and image" astrology helps us also understand him and why he does things a certain way.Outside of Catholicism, many religions believe in astrology very strongly. Also many of their governments use astrology to predict things such as when to go to war, or the outcome of an action they might take.Many people don't know this but some of our own American presidents used astrology to help them in office.
According to the Catholic Church astrology is satanic. There is one slight flaw in their thinking and I'll explain that now. We have used the star for as long as humans have been around. The stars helped us in wonderous ways one being navigation, they helped sailors and other people find their way home or to land. Some of the most advanced civilizations like the Mayans,who we will talk about in astrological predictions, used astrology as their way of life. If anything the church use astrology and not condemn it, they would be able to find out more about God, themselves, creation and even others!
How Can Astrology Benefit Me?
Astrology can provide us with meaning when we argue with certain people we meet. If we compare our birth charts with other people's birth charts we can start to realize where and why our personalities might conflict with people around us.Astrology can help us understand our lives better and help us with our decisions.Obviously astrology can not predict the future, but it is very useful in helping us through the future and helping us to analyze our past and present as well. A popular metaphor is to imagine being dealt a certain hand of cards. Via astrology you can then play your cards in the most advantageous way possible.To layout the benifits of Astrology plain and simple I'll list them.

- Can help you understand others and your relationships
- Can help you understand your life. Such as being gay, an only child, adopted
- Gives you a new perspective on things
- You can predict future events
- You may learn things you might not want to know
- Your predictions could have a bad consequence
- Takes the fun out of life if you predict everything you do.
Astrological Predictions
This is a huge issue right now mainly because of the Mayans predicting the end of the world in 2012 or as they call it the end time in their calendar. The Mayans are famous for their astrological and scientific knowledge. The reason why many people are questioning 2012 is because most of the Mayan's predictions have been very accurate. Now the Mayans aren't the only people who have made predictions. There are people that have predicted miraculous things that have come true.One of these predictions including the crash on Wall Street.
Now one main theory that involves astrology and the end of the world is The Age of Aquarius. I will talk about this in my next Post.
